As a medical illustrator, I create drawings to explain complicated medical and biological issues. I draw illustrations for international journals in which scientific publications are published. I design didactic illustrations for text books to explain the complex content of medicine in a way that is appropriate for the target group. I illustrate school books for biology in the upper grades. For clinics, I draw graphics that are used to educate patients.
For pharmaceutical companies, I design charts and infographics that are used in congress presentations. I illustrate funding applications with figures that explain the structure and research focus of the consortia to the funders. I develop logos for the branding of medical companies and for third-party funding applications.

I research all needed medical information myself that is necessary to design a scientific illustration.
To offer a client new solutions for scientific illustrations, medical knowledge is irreplaceable.
For an average illustrator, all scientific facts have to be explained in detail. Being a medical doctor, I already understand what my clients are talking about.
If medical illustrations are designed without medical knowledge, this can result in repeated rounds of corrections. As a medical professional, I design accurate illustrations right from the start.
Being a medical doctor, I transform scientific facts into illustrations.
I design illustrations that are visually appealing and scientifically accurate.
My work is tailored to meet the needs of the target group: from the general public to the scientific community.
